THE TABLETTING PROCESS
3.
Ejection
The final stage of the cycle is to remove the tablet ready
for the next tablet to be formed. Careful adjustment of the
height to which the lower punch is allowed to rise within
the die is essential to avoid damage.
The height should be set exactly level with the top edge of
the die. Set too low, the tablet may be crushed between the
take-off plate and the bore of the die. Set too high, the
tip of the punch may come into contact with the take-off plate,
causing severe damage to both the punch and the machine
itself.
11. The lower punch begins to rise in the bore of the die lifting
the tablet until
12. its base is level with the tap of the die.
13. The tablet is then pushed aside into the take-off chute
by passing under a static blade.
14. the lower punch then moves to its lowest position ready
for filling. 1. and the entire cycle is repeated.
